My name is Demri Williams, I'm a junior at Pine View High School. I am an intern for the Animal Clinic of St. George as a Vet Assistant. It's been a fun experience. I've learned a lot more than I thought I would. I've learned how to take care of the animals, where to place a shot, vaccines, and lots more. I'm more of a hands on person so it really helps me here. I recommend this internship to anyone that loves animals.

Hi I'm Aiden Taylor, I am a junior at Pine View High School and I'm interning with Savavo. It's a marketing company, but I'm doing the software component & web hosting. For example, if a client is having a problem with their website, I'll go in and solve it. Or if there is a virus on their server, I'll go in and fix it. I'll also be programming their platform that small businesses use. Going into this internship, I already knew the coding language from High School, but what is really valuable is the real world experience I've gained from this internship .

My name is Ashlie Robinson and I intern at the Bloomington Hills Elementary Preschool. I really like that my internship is during school and I get to go in and learn how a classroom works from the teacher side. This is helping me learn how to be a better teacher and how to work with students. I get to work with the students and help the teacher assess the students. It's been really good!

Hi I’m Tori Phelps and I’m a senior Enterprise High School. I recently started being an intern at SoGel Nails for Business Marketing & Accounting. This has helped me to realize how important every step is, not just in business products but in life. Being able to do this has given me an experience that the classroom environment hasn’t given me. It’s on the job training and you learn a bunch about product price points, numbers and different things that you don’t learn in school. I would definitely recommend an internship for anyone. It gives you opportunities that you don't have in the classroom.

I'm Tiffany Tammietti and I'm Interning at Hurricane Dental Group. I'm a senior at Hurricane High School. Things I have learned here couldn't be learned in a classroom. It has helped me to see if this is what I want to do for my future. I've learned teeth numbers, the instruments, x rays, and so many other things. I'm totally learning and I like it a lot. I definitely want to be a hygienist now. I recommend an internship if you are not sure about what you want to do. This is a great way to see if it is for you or not.

Hi I’m Jayden Backus. I’m a senior at Desert Hills High School, and I’m an intern with Stephen Wade Auto Center. I do social media marketing for them, I’ve helped develop animation videos they are going to use as a guide for some future employment opportunities. I’m also taking photography for them on the different cars they have. I get to drive them up and they have a template that I use, to take pictures and upload to the website for people looking to buy a car. I would definitely recommend this internship, you get a lot of hands on experience and it is something you can take with you for the rest of your life to further your career!

My name is Elesi Leoso. I’m 17 years old and I’m currently a senior at Pine View High School. I first learned about internships through my school counselor. He recommended it to me since I had a lot of free slots in my schedule.
So then I was referred to the workshops I had to take at the Department of Workforce Services. While there we did a lot of workshops where they taught us how to conduct ourselves in an interview and how to make a resume that would look good to a company looking to hire. My particular want in Human Recourses was hard, I met and interviewed with two companies but nothing happened. I felt they went really well but they never called me back. So I kind of thought that maybe this just isn’t for me so I just left it for a little bit and focused on school. Then I got a call from Department of Workforces Services saying that they found an HR internship with a company called Stephen Wade Auto Center. The next week, I came in for an interview with my cover letter, resume and other paperwork I needed. It’s been a blast from then on! My internship mentor at Stephen Wade has been teaching me a lot about administration things, like how to process employee papers, how to process background checks, employee wellness and then she had me interview employees from all the dealerships for a short animation video. I went into each department to see what their opinion was and how their experience has been working here at Stephen wade. I enjoyed it a lot. I also enjoyed the process of working with another intern from a different high school and collaborate our work. Then I began putting all my research into a short animated video clip. I’m very happy about how it turned out. I learned a lot here and how to conduct myself professionally, it’s a whole new level here. I usually don’t dress up, I’m more of a tomboy but I had to dress up really nice and it’s just good to surround yourself with different types of people. It’s been a very positive internship experience. |
